The Pride of Pakistan! Haris Zeb's Historic FIFA Club World Cup Debut

Pakistani Footballer Haris Zeb Makes FIFA Club World Cup Debut!

Haris Zeb makes history as the first Pakistani-origin player to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup, joining Auckland City FC and kicking off pre-season training. Previously, he played for Birkenhead United.

Auckland City FC secured a spot in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, a 32-team tournament in the United States, by winning the 2024 OFC Champions League. Zeb and his team will face stiff competition from Bayern Munich (Germany), Boca Juniors (Argentina), and Benfica (Portugal).

Born to Pakistani parents in New Zealand on May 15, 2001, Zeb holds dual citizenship, making him eligible to represent Pakistan’s national team. Although he was called up for the 2023 Four Nations Cup in Mauritius, an injury prevented him from participating. Zeb has expressed his availability for future national team selections to the Pakistan Football Federation.

Zeb’s football career has taken him through Christchurch United and Miramar Rangers. His move to Auckland City FC marks a significant milestone, and he’s determined to bring Pakistan football to the global stage.
