The Thar Desert Train Safari was inaugurated by Provincial Culture and Tourism Minister. The initiative aims to promote tourism and showcase the cultural heritage of the region.

Route & Journey.

• The train runs from Karachi to Chhore, near the Pakistan-India border.
• Stops include Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas.
• The journey offers scenic views of Sindh’s desert landscapes, historical sites, and cultural experiences.
• Covers regions such as Khokhrapar, Tharparkar, passing through vibrant cities, historical towns, and villages.

Train Features & Facilities.

• The train consists of five bogies, including business class and a dining compartment.
• Offers overnight stay options: onboard train, in campsites, or at local resorts.

Activities & Experience.

• Upon arrival at Chhor (Parchi Jeveri), tourists will enjoy:
  • Sunset viewing.
  • Bonfire & live music.
  • Traditional Sindhi dinner.
  • Camping & cultural performances.

• Tourists are taken to a picnic point at Parchi Je Veri, developed by the army.
• Local children in traditional attire greet visitors with flower bouquets.

• Ticket price: Starts at Rs. 30,000 per adult (Sindh Tourism Development Corporation).
• All tickets for the first journey were sold out before departure.
